GEORGE TOWN, Aug 3 – Following for four hours of incessant rain, several houses in Balik Pulau was suddenly flooded on Monday after the water level from of a river rose out. Civil Defence Department spokesperson said there were a heavy rain since 6pm. It had causes flooding in the low-lying areas such as Balik Pulau and some other surrounding areas which including Bayan Lepas, Jalan P Ramlee, Relau and Bandar Baru Ayer Itam.
“In the same time, the situation in some areas was still under control and the water was just knee-deep. Only one house in Pondok Upeh, Balik Pulau was hit badly. Our personnel are ready to face any eventualities but now the situation is under control,” he said when contacted here,” said Civil Defence Department spokesperson.
