GEORGE TOWN, Aug 7 – SMJK Heng Ee Cawangan Building Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on Thursday morning at SMJK Heng Ee Bayan Baru Branch with attended by YB Abdul Malik Abul Kassim and YB Zairil Khir Johari. The construction of SMJK Heng Ee Bayan Baru Branch which costs RM50 million has been entered into the second phase.

SMJK Heng Ww Bayan Baru Branch had obtained the building plan approval from Penang Island City Council on 21st January 2014. The permit of the construction was also issued on 24th February 2014. The first phase construction of the administrative building at a cost of over RM7 million is now completed.

The new school covers an area of approximately 8 acres is divided into four stages of construction. Meanwhile, the school land was contributed by Ideal Property Group together with Koperasi Tunas Muda Sungai Ara Berhad to Penang State Government for the education purpose.

The Penang State Government had announced for the land to be allocated to SMJK Heng Ee for building its branch in South West District of Penang Island on 9th January 2013. This Cawangan building was builded in 6 storey with 96 classrooms are estimated to have a construction cost at more than RM20 million.

Chairman Heng Ee School Board of Directors Dato’ Loh Geok Beng said Heng Ee Schools was founded by The Late Dato’ Rev. Father A. Julien which have been 59 years ago. The schools especially the secondary school can be attained a big enrolment of more than 3500 students which about 600 students in each session.

“Heng Ee National Type Chinese Secondary School Bayan Baru Branch School was also consists of 4 major building, namely Administrative Building, Academic Building, Amenities Building and Auditorium Building. We hope that this new Chinese Secondary School may take in the student on January 1, 2018,” he said.

“This building was exactly using a green building index which using sunlight source and more. Meanwhile, the green building not only having the natural reflective for student to study. Besides that, this green building may also save a lot of the energy,” said Heng Ee  Branch Engineering Consultants Dato’ Ar. Jong East Full.
