MALACCA, Oct 13 – A group of pirates using homemade bombs to exploded damaging the ATM kiosk of a bank in Ayer Keroh here this early morning. The three masked men in a luxury car were earlier seen placing two homemade devices at the ATM kiosk at about 2:05am on Tuesday. However, only one successful ATM blown up with explosives, before criminals fled with cash.
Another bomb known as a pipe bomb was left in the ATM by the robbers. Bomb disposal unit (UPB) from Bukit Aman managed to detonate the bomb using a robot around 10.25am. Malacca police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Wira Chuah Ghee Lye said three masked men were seen in the bank’s CCTV footage acting suspiciously at scene of crime. The amount of loss are being investigated.
