ALOR GAJAH, Jan 3 – Gallery Bookstore Sdn Bhd aims to open ten branches nationwide within two years, said Director, Datuk Mohd Salleh Saidin. He said the first branch, opened in Masjid Tanah on Dec 26 last year, was well-received. The second branch would be opened in Alor Setar, Kedah, this March, he said.
“We aim to be the key player in the book chain business within five years. By 2020, we hope to be among the top three companies in the book chain business in terms of sales in Peninsular Malaysia,” Mohd Salleh said this to reporters after the opening of the branch in Masjid Tanah here Saturday.
Tourism and Culture Deputy Minister, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, officiated the opening of the branch. Mohd Salleh said the company would ensure that all its branches would be conducive and attract buyers. He said they will offer quality reading materials at competitive prices. He also added that the services will also be good while also planning to offer member and discount cards. Gallery Bookstore’s headquarters is in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
