PUTRAJAYA, Jan 14 – No Malaysians were affected by the bomb explosions in Jakarta Thursday, said Wisma Putra. It said in a statement here on Thursday that the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta is monitoring the situation closely. Meanwhile, Wisma Putra advised Malaysian citizens residing in and travelling to Jakarta to be extra vigilant and adhere to any instruction issued by the local authorities.
According to media reports, at least six people were killed and several others injured in several blasts in the vicinity of the Sarinah shopping mall in Jakarta. Wisma Putra said that the Government of Malaysia wishes to convey its deepest sympathies and condolences to the Government and the people of the Republic of Indonesia on the tragic incident.
