GEORGE TOWN, Jan 21 – World No. 5 Dato’ Lee Chong Wei fought his way into the Grand Prix (GP) Gold Malaysia Masters quarterfinals after beating Derek Wong Zi Liang of Singapore at the Arena Spice, here, today.
He took 28 minutes to defeat his opponent 21-10, 21-10 in the third round match. Dato’ Lee Chong Wei will be facing Ajay Jayaram of India who beat qualifier Zulfadli Zulkiffli of Malaysia in straight sets 11-21, 21-8, 22-20.
“I hope that the other’s player who won today may continues to keep their momentum on going. While for the players who lose, may learn from their mistake and try their best on next coming tournament,” Dato’ Lee Chong Wei told the reporters during the interview.
