GEORGE TOWN, March 6 – A total number of 45 participants has participate in a pau eating competition which was held at Gurney Paragon here yesterday. The pau eating competition is organised by Gurney Paragon Mall, with Tasty Congee and Noodle Wantun Shop being sponsor of all the pau and the prizes.
The objective of the pau eating competition is to raise funds to aid SJK(C) Keow Kuang which is a primary school in Bukit Mertajam. Participants who participated in the competition do not need pay any registration fees. However, each participant ought to donate a sum of minimum RM10.
The participants were divided into groups, whereby a group contained 7 or 8 participants. Two winners from each group who finished all the 20 pau and a bottle of 500ml water in the shortest time will then be shortlisted to participate in final round of the competition.
The judges for the competition are Ms Khor Tze Ming, executive director of Hunza; Ms Maggie Fong, the founder and owner of the Balik Pulau Lodge cum CEO of Flyer King; and Dato’ Seri Joseph Lee, a very successful entrepreneur. The finalists who enter the final round of the competition will have the chance to walk away with Tasty’s food vouchers plus other exciting prizes.
The final round will be take place in a week’s time on 13 March 2016 at Gurney Paragon Mall’s atrium. The champion will walk away the prizes worth RM800, whereas the first runner-up will win prizes worth RM500. The 3rd prize winner will win prizes worth RM300.
