GEORGE TOWN, March 16 – The Penang largest fashion extravaganza will be held again at Penang Gurney Paragon Mall this April. This is the Penang second instalment of the Penang Fashion Week, endorsed by the state government of Penang will be featuring 15 Asia’s Most Talented Designers.
Penang Fashion Week for this year were themed “Street Vogue”, the overall concept of the anual Fashion Week focuses on upbeat street fashion amidst a Penang’s famous heritage backdrop. The fashion week is a platform to highlight the uniqueness of Penang and to promote Penang as a tourist destination.
Penang Fashion Week will taking place at Penang’s most iconic and historic venue (Gurney Paragon Mall) over ten days in April (15-24 April 2016), the event allows the visitors to experience the atmosphere of Penang Fashion Week and gain an insight into the fashion industry.
This year, some of the mall brands are also taking part to put on their shows. Worth highlighting this time, Chow Tai Fook jewellery, the latest addition to the “first time in Penang” list of tenants, directly from Hong Kong will fly in their collections of jewellery pieces for the gala night which falls on April 16.
The highlight of the gala night will be the fashion showcase of Wisharawish from Thailand, Illiza Ho from Taiwan, Eric Choong from Malaysia, and Danny Choo from Malaysia based in Japan. All this 4 reputable designers will be wowing the audiances with their astounding smart doll apparel, handbag, and apparel designs.
The 15 Asia’s Most Talented Designers, in additional to hosting the runway shows, are also contributing their designer outfit to the mall’s shoppers such as shoppers could join the “Win A Designer Outfit” contest throughout the month April which spending RM300 or more in a maximum of 2 receipts will be in the running to win a designer outfit. All the designers’ outfit are displayed at ground level galleria.
Among the sponsors, Sephora will be providing model makeup, hair will be styled by Blonde & Brunette with L’Oréal Professional as the main haircare product sponsor. As the event’s official airlines and car sponsors, Malaysia Airlines and Lexus will be providing VIP transportation.
G Hotel Gurney, G Hotel Kelawai, Hotel Neo+ Penang and The Wembley – A St. Giles Htel will be providing rooms for the VIPs. Other collaborating partners include The Star, Guang Ming Daily, Backstage, Men’s Folio, L’Officiel, Velvet Signature, American Crew, Vespa, Sun Seekers, Four Points by Sheraton Penang and CJ Bug Production.
