GEORGE TOWN, March 17 – The member of Penang City Council (MBPP), Ong Ah Teong denied a Chinese newspaper which alleged that there were rats as big as rabbits and chickens in George Town. He said he have also contacted to the author to verify the allegations in newspaper dated on March 6 while the author also unable to show evidence.
“I would advise, if you want to write an article ‘special’ though, does not need to be in violation of ethics. Meanwhile, MBPP conduct periodic inspections on common focus places, especially the location which is located under the maintenance of local authorities such as food-related complex, market and others,” he said at a press conference at City Hall here today.
“MBPP even using poison which is fed with bread in order to control the rat population. To eliminate the entire population is impossible because the developed countries such as Japan and the United States is also facing the same problem,” he explained in the press conference here today.
