GEORGE TOWN, Apr 1 – A businesswoman Phang Li Koon has arrived at the George Town District police headquarters this morning at 9:30am with a man, who believe is her lawyer. She was here to assist in the investigation over her statutory declaration (SD) over the sale of her bungalow in Pinhorn Road to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
George Towm OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid had also confirmed that Phang was at the police station to assist in the investigation. On Thursday, state police chief Comm Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab said Phang’s statement would be recorded today. The investigation ended on 1:15pm while Phang walked exited the police station direct to her car without stopping to speak to reporters.
Several police reports had been lodged by Barisan Nasional (BN) and non governmental organisations against Phang’s SD was fake as the contents contained some inaccurate information. Phang claimed that she did not survey the market price for the bungalow before she sale because it was necessary.
In the meantime, Phang also said that she did not benefit from the state government from the sale of the bungalow, and she was not pressured or coerced or influenced in an unappropriate manner by the Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng or any party to sell the unit.
