KUCHING, Jun 25 – Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said the family of slain Bill Kayong would be offered assistance including in his children’s education. She said the ministry is also prepared to provide counseling to the family members to help them overcome the trauma. She added that an officer would be sent to meet with the deceased’s family. Rohani condemned Bill’s murder as senseless and inhumane.
She said whatever differences that may have existed, no one has the right to act so cruelly as to commit murder. She told this to reporters after attending a breaking of fast function with Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and his wife, and members of the ministry’s target group here, last night. She hoped the police could track down Bill’s murderer and bring the culprit to justice. — Bernama
