GEORGE TOWN, Jan 14 – The DAP-led state government will hold the state Chinese New Year open house on Feb 5 at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Shang Wu, here from 12 noon to 2pm. State Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman Danny Law Heng Kiang said all Penangites and members of the public are invited to join in the festivity to celebrate Chinese New Year together.
He also said that the state open house is a multicultural event and as usual they will be providing halal food as well as vegetarian food so that everyone can join in the celebration and have a good time. He told this to the reporters in a press conference, here today.
He also added that several DAP assemblymen as well as Members of Parliament from other parties will also be invited to attend the open house. Members of the public are encouraged to join in as around 2,000 people are expected to attend the open house to be held on the ninth day of the Lunar New Year. — Bernama
