GEORGE TOWN, Feb 4 – Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta Night Glow Performance with Fireworks Display was kicked off at Padang Polo here this evening. This was the third times Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is being held in Penang which officiated by the Governor of Penang Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas. The state government of Penang which endorsed and fully supported the 2-day event spent RM900,000 to make it a success and an attraction, as in previous years, for Penangites and tourists.
According to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Penang is the only state in Malaysia where the hot air balloon fiesta is still held thus marking the state as a place to be for attractive tourist products that cannot be found elsewhere. Also present were Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Rashid Hasnon and exco members Danny Law, Dr Afif Bahardin and Datuk Malik Bin Abul Kassim.
