GEORGE TOWN, May 24 – Penang MCA Organising Secretary Dr Tan Chuan Hong hold a press conference today to criticised DAP, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM), Perkasa, Persatuan Veteran Perwira Negara Malaysia (PVPNM) and those who like for going volte-face with regard to the issues of China’s investment in Malaysia.
He said they where like to speak differently to different races in their attempt to provoke racial sentiment to attack UMNO and MCA. The Ex-Soldiers Association (PVPNM) had recently led 50 retired servicemen to make report requesting the police to investigate UMNO and MCA for their forging strategic relationship with the Communist Party of China (CPC).
According to media report, one of the leaders for the 50 was former Royal Malaysian Air-Force Major Zaidi Ahmad, who is also the Information Officer for Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng. He said as such, they have strong reasons to suspect that the mastermind behind the police report is actually DAP.
On one hand, Tan said DAP leaders who like Lim Guan Eng and Teng Chang Khim express friendliness in their statements towards China and welcome Chinese investment in Malaysia when facing the readers of local Chinese newspapers. On the other hand, Tun Mahathir, Tan Sri Muhyiddin and other PPBM leaders are claiming that the investments by China had taken away the locals’ rice bowls.
“Tun Mahathir, Tan Sri Muhyiddin and other PPBM leaders are claiming that the investments by China had taken away the locals’ rice bowls-they even go around in the rural areas with anti-China statements and the accusations that Prime Minister Najib and Malaysian government’s co-operations with China undermines national sovereignty,” Tan said during the press conference at State Assemby.
In the meantime, he also said that the pro-Mahathir Perkasa also paints MCA-CPC co-operations in a bad light. He added that it is therefore crystal clear that DAP and PPBM, Perkasa and so on are going volte-face when dealing with the issues of Chinese investment.
Tan said DAP would show its friendliness towards China and welcome China’s investment when facing the Chinese community whereas PPBM would spread anti-China sentiment and condemn the government and MCA’s co-operations with China so as to incite the emotion among the Malays.
“This is a very dirty and shameless opportunistic tactic. Now that Guan Eng’s very own Information Officer Zaidi had lodged a police report against UMNO and MCA’s co-operations with CPC, we are interested to know, what is Guan Eng and DAP’s real motive behind all this? What is Pakatan Harapan’s stand towards Chinese investment?” he asked. –PN
