GEORGE TOWN, Jul 22 – Naza Italia, the sole official importer and distributor of Ferrari in Malaysia, officially kicked off Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary celebrations in front of Penang City Hall here this afternoon. The celebrations began this morning with 49 of Ferraris making its way from Kuala Lumpur to Penang’s UNESCO site since 9am today which is considered as one of the largest event in Malaysia.
The grand display of fine Italian craftsmanship was a head-turning spectacle that delighted on-looking Ferrari enthusiasts. NAZA World Group Executive Chairman Datuk Wira Hj.SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin said, “We are truly honoured to be part of Ferrari’s global celebrations and it gives us great pleasure to be able to pay tribute to Cavallino Rampante history with some of the most devoted Ferrari owners in the nation.”
“With the Pearl of the Orient being such a historical gem and a city where heritage is both highly regarded and celebrated by local and international visitors alike, it is the ideal setting in which we may gather to reflect on Ferrari’s many accomplishments,” he added.
Meanwhile, Naza Italia Sdn Bhd chief operation officer (COO) Farid Sulaiman said as the symbol and iconic model of Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary, the LaFerrari Aperta is present at every stage of the ceremonies worldwide. He said this special series model is a limited edition spider version of the LaFerrari supercar.
“The LaFerrari Aperta is dedicated to the most loyal of Ferrari customers and with only 209 units developed; it is a feature of utter exclusivity. It boasts technological excellence, dynamic performance and unique style – all of which are core values that brilliantly represent the brand and its accomplishments of the last seven decades. In Malaysia, the allocation is two units,” he said.
Ferrari Malaysia’s celebrations are part of a busy calendar of events happening in 60 countries across the globe. In a grand total of 70 events, clients and enthusiasts of the marque are being treated to specially crafted activities that honour the iconic luxury brand. As one of the cornerstones on which the Ferrari story was founded, “Driven by Emotion” is the theme of every tribute. The anniversary celebrations will culminate in Maranello on the weekend of 9 and 10 September 2017.
As part of its corporate social responsibility Naza Italia through its charitable foundation, Yayasan Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin will be donating RM105,000 equally to three homes in Penang – Pusat Jagaan Permata Kasih, St. Joseph’s Home and The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home. The cheque presentation will take place at the Fort Cornwallis gala dinner. — PN
