GEORGE TOWN, Nov 26 – Around 35,000 runners participated in Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) 2017 here early this morning. The event was organised by Penang State Tourism and have been attracted worldwide runners to participate in this event.
After the run, there were a large number of 10km runners queued for 2 hours waiting to collect their medals of achievement. The long queue started before 8:30am and the in-charge person of the event organiser then walked away leaving the runners continue waited.
At about 8:50am, a man in volunteer’s uniform came and inform the runners that the medal has finished, runners may wait for the e-Cert at home as the organisers will courier the certificate later on. This caused runners‘s dissatisfaction. At about 10:00am, the organiser finally delivered the multi-box of medal to 10km counter.
On the other hand, runners had also posted a post on the organizer’s Facebook page asked that will the organiser take the responsible if any runners caught into food poisoning after eaten the expired chocolate which distributed by the organiser. — PN
