GEORGE TOWN, Jan 27 – The World’s Highest Rope Course Challenge known as The Gravityz was scheduled for opening on next month at Komtar. Located at TheTop at Level 65 @ Komatar Penang, the ropes course stand at a height of 239 metres from the ground.
The RM4 million The Gravityz is an outdoor adventure platform located that features popular recreational attractions such as the Flying Fox zipline and High Ropes course.
According to its chief executive officer and founder J Hong Low, it would also have obstacle challenges such as A Great Bridge, Z-Wire, G-Rocky and participants are bound to have their share of adrenaline-filled moments.
He said a team had visited the Macau Skywalk, which is 233 metres high along the outside of the Macau Tower, and planned how to provide an improved course at Komtar.
Speaking to the media during the press preview, Only World Group (OWG) chief executive officer Tan Sri Richard Koh said making safety as a top priority, all the equipment used are top-notch safety equipment imported from Switzerland.
“This latest attraction will provide a different dimension to participants who are looking to experience new challenges at TheTop Komtar. The entire experience will take an hour, which will comprise briefings for the participants, the wearing of gears and the course challenge itself.
“The most challenging obstacle challenge is the zipline, which is the fifth obstacle,” Low said at a press conference here yesterday. Also present during the event were Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, state exco members Lim Hock Seng, and Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik.
The Gravityz expects 20,000 participants by this year-end. The course could hold a maximum load of 600kg, which is about six persons, at any given time. The facility would be closed during bad weather.
