PETALING JAYA, May 12 – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has officially announced that he will resigned as President of UMNO and Barisan Nasional Chairman. Political Bureau had also agrees Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to carry out the task of the party president.
“Umno and Barisan Nasional have suffered heavy losses in GE14. I as the Umno president and Barisan Nasional chairman have made the decision to resign for the position,” he said in a press conference after the Umno supreme council meeting at PWTC on Saturday afternoon. — PN
