KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 – Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said the announcement on bonus for civil servants in conjunction with Aidilfitri will most likely be made by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad today.
“It might be announced by PM today, so please wait,” he told reporters after attending the Wesak Day celebration at the Maha Vihara Buddhist Temple in Brickfields here last night.
On Monday, Dr Mahathir had announced that civil servants in the country would be receiving Aidilfitri bonus but the quantum had yet to be decided. There will be a Cabinet meeting today. More that 5,000 Buddhists joined the celebration at the temple. — Bernama
