GEORGE TOWN, September 21 – Penang State EXCO for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage YB Yeoh Soon Hin has demanded the organiser of the David Tao concert tonight in Penang to give an explanation following their failure to deliver, and to refund the concert-goers.
Yeoh said he regrets the disappointment caused by the concert organiser to the concert-goers and said the organiser owes the public an explanation and an apology over the matter.
He stressed that the event was not supported or endorsed by the state government unlike the claims circulating in social media. “It is unacceptable that the organiser failed to fulfill his responsibility as a concert organiser.
“It is not only unfair to those who bought the tickets, but also affected Penang’s reputation for concert tourism.
“The organiser needs to offer a refund to the concert-goers,” he said.
Yeoh said he has also asked the event organiser for an official explanation as they are answerable to the state since the cancellation of the event hurts the state image and prospects for future concerts in Penang.
