PENANG, Thursday, 8.7.2021 – While carrying out pipe repair works on 25.6.2021 and 27.6.2021, another leak was discovered on the same 750mm MS pipeline, therefore the repair need to be done as soon as possible to stop further water losses and avoid the incident of water interruption to the affected consumers in the future. In order to facilitate the repair works, Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang Sdn Bhd (PBAPP) need to close-down the 750mm MS main along Jalan Chain Ferry Butterworth.
This pipeline closure will cause a 12-hour low water pressure in certain areas at Jalan Chain Ferry Butterworth. About 8,908 water accounts will be affected by this water supply interruption. Consumers in the following areas are hereby advised to store sufficient water for use for 12 hours, from 9.00am to 9.00pm on Sunday, 11 July 2021:

PBAPP will strive to complete the works and ensure water supply is normalised as scheduled. PBAPP deeply regrets any temporary inconvenience caused. Please remember to store sufficient water for use.
