1. The Federal Government and Pakatan Harapan today made a national history by signing a Memorandum of Understanding on Transformation and Political Stability.
2. This memorandum, forms a strong and strong ‘two-partisan’ cooperation by raising the spirit of the Malaysian Family, in line with the decree of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al- Musta’in Billah, in conjunction with the opening of the First Meeting, Fourth Term of the Fourteenth Parliament today.
3. According to His Majesty, all parties need to practice deliberative democracy in finding solutions to any problems in order to achieve the goal of a Prosperous, Inclusive and Sustainable Malaysia.
4. The spirit of the Malaysian Family which emphasizes unity, agreement and togetherness is what is expressed in the memorandum of understanding by the government and the Honorable Members this evening.
5. The transformation introduced by the government will not only lead to excellent governance in combating COVID-19 and economic recovery, but also catalyze a conducive investment climate, thus driving strong economic growth for the well-being of Malaysian Families.
6. The Memorandum of Understanding on Transformation and Political Stability signed today includes:
I. Empowerment of the COVID-19 Plan;
II. Administrative Transformation;
III. Parliamentary Reform;
IV. Independence of Judicial Institutions;
V. Malaysia Agreement MA63; and
VI. Establishment of Steering Committee.
7. The Government is confident that this memorandum of understanding will not only be able to put aside all political differences, but also be able to ensure that the country’s recovery runs holistically and inclusively.
8. The highest appreciation to the Honorable Members who have made up their minds to set aside political ideological differences to jointly drive the economic stability and well-being of the Malaysian Family.
