Penang State EXCO of Youth and Sports YB Soon Lip Chee stated to celebrate Malaysia Day, the Penang State Government through PYDC has taken the initiative to organize this program to raise public awareness especially among the youth of the importance of exercising and a healthy lifestyle.
One of our underlying efforts is to create a healthy community and this event, endorsed by the state government, will foster the values of determination, courage, respect, fairness, positivity, consistency, and self-control. According to the General Manager of PYDC, Ms Gwee Sai ling, sports has always been the agent for unity as sports is the best method to bring people together in this country. As we all know, the emergence of pandemic Covid -19 has affected many people since the freedom to move and socialize are limited. PYDC has always provided a platform for youth to involve in such programs that will enhance themselves as an individual and also by giving back to the society.
According to the CEO of SEGi Group of Colleges, Ms. Stella Lau, this challenge was held to let our fellow Malaysians stay fit during the pandemic and at the same time, doing some charity. “Through this challenge, the public will get to stay healthy by joining this challenge and we had prepared different classes as well to help participants to lose more calories. As you donate calories and we donate food to those in need in the home. It’s not how much we give but how much love and effort we put into giving.”
