There are more than 1,000 job opportunities at Plexus now open and interviews will be conducted online on September 18, 2021, which is on Saturday. Among the job opportunities offered are as Production Operators, Material Handlers and QA Inspectors. The job opportunity targets a gross salary of up to RM2,500 ++. Among the facilities provided to employees are daily meal allowance, clinic facilities in the factory, night shift allowance, housing allowance, medical benefits, dental benefits, transportation facilities and more.
This program is under the ‘We Want You’ program and works with Plexus to open opportunities for youths to get jobs during this pandemic. The collaboration with Plexus also involves 3 youth centers in Balik Pulau, Bertam and Penaga as well as the Kadun Bagan Jermal Service Center to provide space for youths who do not have facilities such as computers and internet access to conduct online interviews.
The Penang Youth Development Corporation has used various passive and active market work interventions to protect youth from the effects during and after covid-19. ‘We Want You’ is a career platform that helps reduce youth unemployment in Penang. So far a total of 438 employers have registered in this platform and advertised a total of 929 job opportunities.
