The Pandemic Management Special Committee meeting today agreed to allow a phase shift for the following states effective September 24, 2021:
• Negeri Sembilan from Phase 3 to Phase 4
• Pahang from Phase 2 to Phase 3
• Johor from Phase 1 to Phase 2
This phase transition is in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN) by taking into account hospital admissions for symptomatic cases, the use of ICU beds and the percentage of complete vaccinations. This decision is also made based on the current risk assessment made by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC). The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for states entering Phases 2, 3 and 4, are the same as before. The latest SOP information will be updated by MKN on the official website www.mkn.gov.my. Apart from that, among the other rulings that were also decided today are:
1. Grocery stores, mini markets, restaurants, petrol stations and convenience stores are allowed to operate from 6 am to 12 pm effective 23 September 2021.
2. To allow the opening of tourist centers, islands or tourist areas as well as cross-state activities are allowed provided it reaches 90 percent of the adult vaccination rate based on data and analysis made by the MOH.
3. Business operations of spas, wellness centers, and health massages are allowed to visitors and operators who have received a full dose of vaccine starting October 1, 2021.
4. Tourism centers/ premises/ products such as zoos, plantations, aquariums, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing tourism and jungle parks, are allowed to operate in all phases of VAT effective 1 October 2021 with all operators and visitors/ visitors fully vaccinated.
5. Attendance of employees for each business allowed to operate is at 100% capacity provided the employer and all employees are fully vaccinated.
6. Foreigners arriving at the international gateway have to bear the cost of RT-PCR testing at the national gateway, while for citizens it is free.
The government calls on the people to take full advantage of these concessions with full discipline and a sense of responsibility. Adhere to every SOP set, wear a face mask, practice physical confinement and always maintain personal hygiene and safety.
