BAYAN LEPAS, September 23 – A total of 3,500 students aged 16 to 17 years old from nine (9) schools throughout the state of Penang were given an appointment to receive vaccinations involving six (6) Vaccination Centers (PPV) today. For the state of Penang, the latest statistics from the Penang State Education Department (JPNPP) record a total of 37,000 students in the relevant age range. In fact, the records of the Penang State Health Department (JKNPP) show that the total number of teenagers aged 16 to 17 years (students and non -students) in the state is as many as 43,000 people, 12 to 15 years (93,000).
Sharing JKNPP data yesterday, a total of 780 students (16 to 17 years old) with permanent addresses in the state and full boarding outside Penang have successfully received vaccinations and all processes are running smoothly where appointments are given through the MySejahtera application. For students (without comorbidities), the vaccination appointment is THROUGH the MySejahtera APPLICATION involving six (6) PPV as previously announced.
Based on the announcement by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) yesterday, ONLY teenagers/students studying in public/private institutions of higher learning (IPT) and non-school teenagers (non-students) are allowed to walk-in starting today (23 September 2021) at four PPV as listed:-
(i) PPV SPICE Convention Center;
(ii) Seberang Jaya Expo Site PPV;
(iii) PPV Dewan Perda Convention Center;
(v) PPV Sungai Bakap Multipurpose Hall.

For teenagers aged 12 to 17 years with comorbidities, the vaccination process has already begun, namely appointments through the MySejahtera application at the nearest hospitals based on the residential address of the recipients.
