ANGKASAPURI, October 8 – I am grateful to Allah SWT because with His permission and grace, we can all gather at the Auditorium Perdana to complete this very meaningful Malaysian Family Pre-Launch Ceremony. My dear Malaysian family, FEATURES – INCLUDING Perhaps many are wondering what exactly the idea of the Malaysian Family is, and why it has become the ‘spirit’ that the government wants to invigorate today. The answer is simple; because a family institution always has the role of preserving religion, protecting security, maintaining dignity and ensuring the fate of every family member is protected.
In the national context, we are a Malaysian Family consisting of various religions, races, ethnicities and ages. Despite different beliefs, backgrounds and cultures, we celebrate ‘inclusivity’ in differences, upholding the spirit of Malaysia as a nation.The pluralism that we celebrate is the seed that heals in the hearts of every Malaysian. This sustainability is an asset that must continue to be defended. Thus, the value of every Malaysian Family is an important component in determining the fall, rise of this blessed earth.
The practice of living in harmony and non -division that we practice as a Malaysian Family is like the proverb ‘a bunch like lemongrass, a bunch like betel. This Pre -Launch Ceremony is a manifestation of the government’s desire and commitment, to increase efforts to spread the concept and direction of the Malaysian Family, so that it can be understood and appreciated by all levels of society. It goes hand in hand with our journey to recover and restore the country, from the impact of the twin health and economic crises we are going through.
The concept and approach of the Malaysian Family is not something that is difficult to digest, because it is actually based on the existing values that we have in every family. What the government is doing is to harmonize and uphold these values as a guide to further strengthen Malaysia’s strength, with the uniqueness of various religions, races and ethnicities. All the values of the Malaysian Family are centered on the Supremacy of the Federal Constitution as enshrined in the Rukun Negara.
Like a tree, the roots of the Malaysian Family rest on the Federal Constitution and Rukun Negara, while the trunk and twigs stand strong in the values of the Malaysian Family, which then bear fruit such as leaves, flowers and fruits that are fertile and inayahnya, benefit the people. This is the metaphor of the Malaysian Family. My beloved Malaysian family. Various actions and efforts across ministries and agencies are arranged to facilitate the implementation of programs and initiatives, for the people quickly and effectively.
This is an effort to find ‘togetherness’ (or common ground) so that the main stakeholder, the Malaysian Family, can enjoy it. I would like to draw everyone’s attention, 24 days after the formation of the new cabinet, the government has launched the Rumah Ikram Keluarga Malaysia initiative under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, which involves 2,000 housing units that provide shelter to Malaysian families who lost and lack income due to the COVID pandemic. -19. The Ministries, through continuous coordination, have formulated various initiatives and efforts to ensure that no Malaysian family will be left behind or “no one will be left behind”.
In conjunction with today’s event, I will soon launch the Malaysian Family Squad which sees the coordination of all aid delivery mechanisms, for the people in need throughout the country under one machine. The Malaysian Family Squad will be led by the Social Welfare Department, under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. It is a collaboration of various agencies under different ministries, the private sector and non-governmental organizations (or NGOs).
For today’s launch alone, a total of 10 thousand members of the Malaysian Family Squad are ready to be deployed to all parts of the country, to help the people affected by the pandemic. This number is expected to increase as more ministries and agencies as well as Malaysian Family volunteers register. To ensure the success of this Malaysian Family idea, every ministry and agency is now actively identifying suitable products to be adopted as part of efforts to help the people. This is a step to inculcate a culture of service, performance -oriented to alleviate the burden of Malaysian Families, who need help and support.
In this effort, the government will ensure that every Malaysian Family product has a positive impact as expected. Therefore, the government has also introduced the Key Happiness Outcome (KHO) mechanism which is also complementary to the Key Performance Indicators (or KPIs). These guidelines will be based on existing universal values, including the Happiness Index applicable to most countries around the world.
The tolerance of communities of different religions, races and ethnicities among Malaysian families has lasted for decades. However, it is not easy to defend the umbrella of tolerance if Malaysian families ignore values that can create conflict and difference. This sense of ‘gratitude’ (or contentment) towards tolerance has been translated as one of the characteristics of the Malaysian Family. So, on this meaningful day, I would like to remind you again that our priority is to fight the health and economic crisis, regardless of who is affected by the disaster. Efforts to restore this country will be achieved by continuing to cultivate, sow and maintain the characteristics of ‘Inclusivity’, ‘Common Ground’ and ‘Gratitude’ (Contentment) that we have.
This success will enable us to pave the way for the country’s economic recovery in a new, post -pandemic norm. The economy should be restored, the well -being of the people should be improved, investor confidence should be restored. Be assured that only through the full cooperation of the Malaysian Family, the war against the COVID-19 pandemic will end in victory. Hopefully, behind the face mask that is part of the new norm of our lives, will be engraved again the happy smile of the Malaysian Family that I love.
I would also like to thank and congratulate the organizing committee, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia especially to the Honorable Tan Sri Annuar Musa, Minister of Communications and Multimedia, for successfully organizing the pre -launch ceremony this evening.
