GEORGE TOWN, November 22 – Penang Youth Debate Competition 2021“Pertandingan Debat Belia Pinang 2021″ will be happening for the first time in Penang state. It is jointly organized by Pertubuhan Belia Liga Muslim (PBLM), Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC) Maccalum branch and Junior Chamber International (JCI) Pearl which are non-profit organizations who have diferent ethnics and missions. This debate wil held on 27th November 2021, 4th and 5th December 2021 where YAB Mr Chow Kon Yeow, the Chief Minister of Penang,will officiate the closing ceremony on 5 December2021.
Yaganes a/lSukamaran,Penang Youth Debate Competition 2021 organizing chair, mentioned that the competition will be conducted in Bahasa Malaysia and via Zoom platform where the themes oft this debate themes are Unity and Patriotism. The objectives of this debate are to discover debate and public speaking skills for youth aged within 18 to 30 and to cultivate the value of unity and patriotism in the youth.This is in conjunction with the“MalaysiaFamily”concept that was introduced by our Malaysia 9th PrimeMinister, YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Penang Youth Debate Competition 2021 is open to all youth in Malaysia. A total of sixteen (16) teams are expected to join this debate with each team comprising ofthree (3) members. The value of unity and patriotism are achieved by encouraging each team to have team members that are from different ethnic background. Each team highly encouraged to have at least a member born in Penang or studying at any education institutions in Penang.
