GEORGE TOWN, December 17 – Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) together with Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Persatuan Pedagang dan Pengusaha Melayu Malaysia Penang, Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Penang, Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (Penang State Liaison), and Association of International Business and Professional Management have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at Tan Kok Ping Hall.
The parties entered the MoU to officially declare their mutual intentions and determination to further help and support the youth in entrepreneurship. All parties are eager to explore opportunities and to collaborate with PYDC to develop, support, and enrich the youth in terms of entrepreneurship as well as education and career enhancement programmes that will be beneficial not just for PYDC and them but will be beneficial to the youths as well.

During the signing of MoU, Penang State EXCO for Youth and Sports, Soon Lip Chee said that “Business and entrepreneurship have always play an important role in our society. Nowadays, more and more youths take the initiative and venture into business and become entrepreneurs themselves. This indeed is a good sign as they are no longer relying solely on job vacancies outside but they themselves are creating job opportunities for others.”
He added that “Thus, the importance of today’s MoU signing where PYDC together with these five agencies join hands to further develop, train, and help our youth in their endeavours.” On the other hand, General Manager of PYDC, Dr. Gwee Sai Ling mentioned that “I put my reliance and hope for the future of business in the hands of youth and I am very confident that the younger generations will create innovative and rewarding places to work.”
She further added that “Being an entrepreneur will provide the youth opportunity to exercise their influence as well as to train them to become the nation’s leader in the future in terms of determination, perseverance, and patience. Being an entrepreneur requires need not just these three qualities but many other qualities as well.”
