KUALA LUMPUR, December 28 – The recent floods that have hit several areas in Peninsular Malaysia have affected the liabilities and obligations of taxpayers and / or employers to make tax payments within the stipulated period, including estimated tax payments. Tax installments whether at the level of investigation, audit, collection and civil suit as well as payment of Monthly Tax Deduction (STD) of employees.

Based on the concern of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (HASiL) towards taxpayers and / or employers affected by this flood disaster, tax deferment is allowed as follows:

1.1 The deadline for payment of estimated tax payable (CP204) for December 2021 is extended to 31 January 2022;

1.2 Payment of investigation / audit / collection / civil suit installments for January 2022 is deferred until February 2022;

1.3 The deadline for payment of STD and / or CP38 of employees for the month of remuneration December 2021 is extended for remittance until 31 January 2022; and

1.4 Payment of the remaining tax is allowed to be deferred until a period requested by the taxpayer.

The affected taxpayer and / or employer must submit this tax deferment application to HASiL through the following methods:
