GEORGE TOWN, December 29 – In collaboration with the Taman Kota Permai MPKK Youth Bureau, the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) has organized a Coffee Brewing Workshop which provides an opportunity for young people to get to know and approach the production process and the story behind a cup of coffee. The workshop was organized face to face on 18 December 2021 at Frad Coffee, Bukit Mertajam with the participation of 15 participants.
Penang is a major tourist attraction, and cafes are also one of the places they always visit. The coffee industry has directly become a relatively important chain industry in Penang in terms of tourism and economy. With this, the PYDC took the initiative to collaborate with the Youth Bureau to hold a Coffee Brewing Workshop with local cafe owners.
Attending participants were given an introduction to the coffee brewing process and techniques for brewing coffee with the use of methods and tools similar to those used by real baristas. Participants were also given the opportunity to brew a cup of coffee with techniques and knowledge that have been learned throughout the workshop.
PYDC is always ready to promote positive youth development from all holistic aspects. We hope to develop talents and develop our youth to be more holistic and reach their full potential in life. The objective of this Coffee Brewing Workshop is to encourage youths in Penang to participate and focus on the coffee industry, if they are found interested in venturing into the field are also welcome.
