GEORGE TOWN, January 24 – It is informed that the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow is currently undergoing self-quarantine after being found to be in close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual while attending a ceremony last Saturday.
Therefore, as directed by the Penang State Health Department (JKNPP), YAB Chief Minister must undergo a self -quarantine period of five (5) days starting yesterday (Sunday).
JKNPP also instructed him to undergo the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test on the third day of the relevant period, which is tomorrow, 25 January 2022. This includes several related individuals who were also identified as close contacts.
In the meantime, JKNPP is also now actively conducting contact detection to prevent the spread of infection. Those concerned will be contacted by JKNPP from time to time for further action.
