PUTRAJAYA, February 8 – The National Recovery Council (NRC) has agreed to fully open the country’s borders as early as March 1, without the need for compulsory quarantine.
However, its chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said, the COVID-19 test should be done according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (MOH) before departure and upon arrival at the main entrance of the country.
According to him, the MPN decided so after hearing the proposal of the Director General of Immigration, Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud recently. So the NRC agreed that the country’s borders can be fully opened as early as March 1 without the need for compulsory quarantine.
“The opening of the country’s borders must be implemented in a planned manner and based on risk assessment,” he said at a press conference after the MPN meeting here, on Tuesday.
