PENANG, March 29 – The registration of USM National Traditional Chinese Calligraphy Competition Year 2022 ‘Rise’ organised by Chinese Arts and Cultural Secretariat of USM (USM SKKT) was available from 13th March 2022 (12.00pm) to 23rd March 2022 (12.00pm).
There are 3 categories in this competition including primary category, secondary category and the public category. We had received workpieces from participants all around Malaysia. The competition has received various support from the public. With this, the primary category and secondary category have fulfilled the enrolment quota.
The purpose of this competition is to promote the art of calligraphy to the society and attract the attention of the public about this signature Chinese culture. Our event emphasises the importance of propagating the culture and the professional status of Chinese calligraphy in our country. We wish to instil stronger calligraphy skills among students and the public. This event acts as a platform to unearth their talent and conserve this precious culture, forging a creative, innovative and artistic society.
The winners of the USM National Traditional Chinese Calligraphy Competition Year 2022 ‘Rise’ will be announced at the event ceremony that will be held on 2nd April 2022 from 2pm to 3pm at the official Facebook page of Chinese Arts & Cultural Secretariat of USM. Besides, there are a series of wonderful performances such as an ink painting performance and an introduction video related to the culture of Chinese calligraphy.
