KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 – Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad (Takaful IKHLAS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Berhad in collaboration with the Royal Kelantan Council of Elders, recently implemented a Ramadan aid handover program to selected asnaf in the state of Kelantan.
Through this program, Takaful IKHLAS has made a contribution of RM40,000 from the company’s wakalah zakat to be distributed to 150 poor families in 10 colonies in the state of Kelantan to help them prepare for fasting. This contribution includes basic necessities worth RM100.00 and a cash contribution of RM200.00 per person. The recipient criteria are based on the criteria set by the Kelantan Islamic Religious Council (MAIK).
The donation check replica was handed over by Dato ‘Rudy Rodzila Che Lamin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad to YB Dato’ Kaya Setia Dato ‘Haji Nazran Muhammad, Kelantan State Secretary.

This Ramadan aid handover program is one of the activities under IKHLAS Barakah House which is a shariah-compliant fundraising initiative that aims to generate positive community development and sustainability through financial aid and activities that include community involvement with five (5) main focuses namely empowerment of education, economy, society, health and also the environment.

The purchase of goods is made after coordination from the Kelantan Puspanita so that the goods purchased are not the same goods on the instructions of the district administration officer. This is to ensure that the goods purchased meet the needs of the recipients and suit them as a measure to avoid waste, “explained Dato ‘Rudy.
