PENAGA, April 20 – Four families of fire victims who were left stranded after their homes were licked by fire in an incident at 6:40 am on April 14 in Kuala Muda each received RM2,000 in special assistance from the Chief Minister, Y.A.B. Mr. Chow Kon Yeow himself earlier.
Speaking to reporters, Kon Yeow, who is also the Exco for Land Affairs & Economy and Communications, said that his party had instructed Seberang Perai Tengah District Officer (SPU), Zulkifli Rashid and Penaga State Assembly (KADUN) Chief Khairul Fadzli Rosli to expedite the distribution process. financial contributions from the TYT Fund as well as appropriate related assistance.
“It is understood that further assistance will also be channeled from Tabung Tuan Yang Terutama (TYT). “For fire victims, the issue they face is how to rebuild a house on land that does not belong to them and requires the consent of the landlord.
“So, this issue has been taken into account by the District Officer and Penghulu, and as a solution is to find any government-owned land for resettlement for them,” he explained who is also Padang Kota State Assemblyman and Member of Parliament for Tanjong. following a visit to the scene here on 19 April 2022.
At the same ceremony, Lay Hock Peng, the Special Coordinating Officer to the Chief Minister, also handed over a donation in the form of a wheelchair to one of the fire victims who was a sick senior citizen.
State Government Division Information Officer, Chief Minister’s Office, Zahar Zainul, Council Member for Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), Ooi Yong Wooi, Penaga KADUN Coordinating Officer (PPK), Aida Yusof Rawa are among the State Government leaders who also participated in the family pilgrimage event the victims of the fire involved.
