PUTRAJAYA, May 19 – The government has decided to abolish the Import Permit (AP) for foodstuffs from abroad to Malaysia as imposed previously, said Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. According to the Prime Minister, the repeal is effective immediately and it is now open to anyone to import food from abroad.
I believe the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) will announce in detail, we agreed earlier that there will be no more import APs for foodstuffs. It is open to anyone to import foodstuffs into our country. So if there used to be AP cattle, AP meat (and) all sorts of things, from today we don’t have AP anymore,” said Ismail Sabri
