GEORGE TOWN, July 6 – The Penang up coming International Level Retail Mall and Convention Centre, The Light City phase 1 is set to complete by first quarter of 2025 which developed by IJM Perennial Development Sdn Bhd with the Total Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM4.5 Billion.
In the Media Site Visit yesterday company’s General Manager Tan Hun Beng gave a short briefing on the latest progress which currently at 20% (Per Cent) completed. The Light City occupies 32.76 acres of Seafront Land near the Penang Bridge which features Penang Waterfront Convention Centre with 76,000 sqft with 5 Hall and Capacity of 6,000 Seating or Grand Banquet of 500 Tables.
The Light City Phase 1 include The Waterfront Shoppes, Retail Mall which occupies 1.1 million sqft and 750 Meter Long Promenade and The Converge which has 34 Storeys that include Four Star Hotel with 480 Units of Guest Room and Offices. The Phase 2 of The Light City will include additional 400K sqft for the Retail Mall, 650K sqft for the Commercial Towers and 510K sqft for Residential.
Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow said he hoped to see the construction of the new Convention Centres in Penang could accommodate in Convention Business and adding additional meeting space for big players who intend to hold big-scale events here in Penang. The commencement date to be confirm including Phase 2 and Future Development.
