BAYAN BARU, July 13 – Miss KBJ Ratu Kebaya 2022 is back for the ninth (13th) installment, involving beauty queens from states all across Malaysia and overseas. This prestigious event which will take place on this 23% July 2022 at Kompleks Bukit Jambul for Malaysia Selection and 27th August 2022 for its international Selection at the Spice Arena.
Organized and hosted by Kompleks Bukit Jambul JMB, the beauty pageant is not only set to make waves in the international arena, but also aspires to put Malaysia especially Penang on the world man. Komplels Bukit Jambul JMB had always aims to pioneer in promoting Penang tourism to local and overseas tourists at the same time to find a true ambassador to represent a true traditional Malaysian icon that is “Kebaya” which is the pride and heart of our national identity.
The beauty contest serves as a platform to promote the local tourism industry, culture, food and place. This program is also supported by Penang State and Penang Tourism and will be having, Penang State EXCO for Tourism and Creative Economy (PETACE), YB. Yeoh Soon Hin to grace the event. This is the 3rd year that Ratu Kebaya is teaming up with Miss Malaysia Face of Beauty Malaysia (FOBI). Contestants of Ratu Kebaya will automatically sign up for FOBI.
This year, the winner of “Miss Malaysia Face of Beauty2022” and “Mrs Malaysia Face of Beauty 2022” will represent Malaysia in the Miss Face of Beauty International 2022 in Thailand and “Mrs Face of Beauty International 2022 in New Zealand. Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy (PETACE), YB Yeh Soon Hin in his speech said that KBJ RATU KEBAYA 2022 & MISS and MRS FACE OF BEAUTY MALAYSIA 2022 creates a platform for women in Malaysia and Penang specifically; to take their talents to an international platform.
He added that he had been informed that this year, apart from the local participations, the organizer had invited participants from oversea which he sees as a great effort towards bringing more cultural exchange and promote local tourism to the International Level. As the state government aspires to position Penang as a suitable destination for holding beauty pageants in promoting the state’s tourism industry, we are looking forward to this event which is not only to find a true tourism ambassador for “Kebaya” and to promote our traditional costume but will also highlights the diverse cultures and heritage in Penang as a tourist attraction.
Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy (PEACE), YB Yeh Soon Hin strongly encourages to bring more contestants from other countries to continue promoting Penang Tourism due to Penang has many attraction places to visit which awaits all its visitor to discover. The winners of the Malaysia Selection can be the ambassadors to promote Penang Tourism.
KBJ IMB Chairman, Mr. KH Chan said “As that this year our KBJ Ratu Kebaya 2022 marks the thirteen (13) years of KBJ annual signature event and we are proud that this year we have started early by having the auditions on the 4t and 5t June 2022 with more than 100 contestants. For the Grand Final, we will select only & candidates to vie for Miss category and 5 candidates to vie for Mrs category including 12 participants from oversea to win the total prizes in the KBJ Ratu Kebaya 2022 beauty pageant this year which are more than RM58,000.
Our contestants will also be vying for the 8 subtitles in the Malaysia Selection this 23rd July 2022 at Kompleks Bukit Jambul. These winners will be the ambassador of their subtitles and the emphasis on personal branding and analyzing how the organization wants the brand portrayed can be directly applied to the corporate world.
Among the subsidiary titles are Miss Best Talent, Miss KBJ Popularity (Kompleks Bukit Jambul), Miss Congeniality, Miss AM Clinic, Miss Photogenic, Miss Social Influences, Miss Onsmo Influences and Miss JWP influences.” The semi-finalists were also brought for outdoor activities such as visits to interesting places in Penang to promote Penang most famous local food and handicraft to local and oversea tourists from 01.07.22 until 03.07.22.
There were also visits to the event partners and media houses. As previous year, we will also invite the winner for The Face of Beauty International 2019, Miss Ploy Peerachada Khunrak from Thailand to attend our Grand Final and to crown this year’s winne for Miss Malaysia Face of Beauty 2022. This year, the Photo Shooting competition had been organized on the 25 June 2022 at Kampong Agong.
The Grand Final will take place on 27 August 2022. There will be a gala dinner to raise fund for the selected four charity homes which i personally encourage everyone to support this effort not only to promote Penang Tourism. There will be grand final tickets will be sold starting from RM3,000, RM5,000 and RM 10,000 Per Table (10pax Per Table) on the August, 27 2022.
