SHAH ALAM, July 17 – Constraints in penetrating into rural areas and hinterlands are among the main weaknesses for Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Pakatan Harapan (PH). The matter was acknowledged by PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, while stating that they need to be more prepared in making shifts and new approaches in continuing their efforts to win the hearts of rural voters.
According to him, information and clarification should not be limited to urban and suburban communities only because the grassroots need to be enlightened on the system and policies that are currently practiced. The significant weakness of PKR and PH is generally the constraint to penetrate into rural and remote areas.
We must believe in the principle of human dignity, touch the instincts of the people with human values that reject corruption and tyranny and love justice. We cannot possibly expect government information and communication agencies to provide enlightenment. Therefore, the people must always be given enlightenment about what is true and what is false, what is good and what is evil, what is true and what is false.
I am confident that in the first meeting of the new leadership, we will make this a priority with Anthony Loke (DAP Secretary General), Mohamad Sabu (President of Parti Amanah Negara) and Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau (President of Upko).
