GEORGE TOWN, July 29 – The raw water turbidity level at the PBAPP’s Lahar Tiang Intake (Sungai Muda) reached 261 NTU at 11 am today (29.7.2022). The likely cause is the second report of floods in Baling, Kedah, yesterday, as reported by various mass media online. As of now, the Sungai Dua Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is still able to treat raw water from Sungai Muda.
However, PBAPP is now operating on high alert and monitoring the river water NTU level. PBAPP is also preparing to initiate water supply emergency response/contingency measures at the Sungai Dua WTP. We will issue a public service alert on this latest Sungai Muda scenario by 1.00pm today.
