SHAH ALAM, August 1 – UMNO President, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described his party as more realistic, in line with its very dynamic political nature. Therefore, he said, it would be better if the dynamism was translated through post-election. God willing, after the victory of UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN), a new formula, strategy and approach in political cooperation with relevant parties will be formed, transcending political, racial and cultural differences among political parties for the benefit of the people and the country.
We must be blind to the color of race and religion politics as BN has been doing all this time to ensure the political stability of the country must be re-woven for peace and the interests of all the people,” he said through a post on his Facebook on Sunday. In the meantime, Ahmad Zahid also explained recently that he had stated that UMNO and BN would only be open to working together through a new formula with any political party after the 15th General Election (GE15).
He said that many parties tried to approach UMNO and BN even though before there were among them trying to erode and weaken UMNO in a cunning way. “When the passion is to work with UMNO, it is only focused on UMNO’s traditional seats to be sacrificed and given to them. Some say they are not difficult to make more or less halal. Some also claim that their party is becoming more popular in the eyes of the people, so they should be given more seats.
