KUALA LUMPUR, August 5 – The UMNO Supreme Working Council (MKT) meeting chaired by YB Dato Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on 4 August 2022, among others, made the following resolutions: Dates of Branch Conferences, Divisional Representative Meetings and General Assembly:
- Branch UMNO Conference : 15 August to 18 September 2022;
- UMNO Women’s Representative Meeting, UMNO Youth and Women’s Division: 7.8 and 9 October 2022
- UMNO Divisional Representative Meeting: 14, 15 and 16 October 2022;
- UMNO General Assembly: 23 to 26 November 2022.
There is no election for office in the Branch Conference, Divisional Representative Meeting and General Assembly: there is no election for office at all levels this time. The MKT certified the approval of the Malaysian Organizations Registration Department (ROS) with minor amendments to the UMNO Constitution which will come into effect from 29 July 2022. The MKT expressed its gratitude for the approval given.
The states under the Barisan Nasional administration must take steps to amend their respective state laws/enactments after the Federal Constitution Amendment related to the ban on party jumping has been gazetted. MKT also urged that the party machinery at all levels focus on preparing for GE-15, whenever the date will be determined.
