GEORGE TOWN, August 8 – Penang Esport Championship 2022 has come to an end. The program was initiative by Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) in collaboration with UNIMY Esport Club has garnered an incredible response from youth all around the country. The programmed achieves its goals, which are to raise awareness and encourage youth participation in the esports community.
At the closing ceremony, the Penang State for Youth and Sports Exco, YB Soon Lip Chee, congratulated the winners and said, “through this event, we can identify young talent in Esports and it adhered to our vision of producing youth that focuses on integrity, marketability, and competency as well as our mission to educate, cultivate and empower youth towards a holistic development”.
Dr. Gwee Sai Ling, General Manager of Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) said, “through this competition, participants could learn more about leadership and cooperation on the team and this program was also one of the initiatives for youths to show their talents in the esports industry, which is one of the most widespread fields in this current era.”
Also present at the closing ceremony was Dr. Gwee Sai Ling, General Manager of Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), Associated Prof TS. Dr. Zulkarnain Kedah, Vice Chancellor of UNIMY, TS. Prof Dr. Salwani Binti Mohd. Daud, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Puan Azizah Atdenan, Registrar of UNIMY and UNIMY Student Representative Council and Esports Club held online on 03 August 2022. Penang Esport Championship 2022 has ended and a total of RM6200 price pool has been won.
