PUTRAJAYA, August 19 – Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has terminated the services of the law firm Messrs. Zaid Ibrahim Suflan TH Liew & Partners (ZIST) for the appeal proceedings to set aside the conviction, sentence and fine involving the embezzlement of SRC International Sdn Bhd Company’s funds, at the Federal Court here on Friday. During the proceedings before a panel of five judges led by the Chief Justice, Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, lawyer Hisyam Teh Poh Teik as Najib’s main lawyer said that the solicitor had been released by Najib as the appellant.
Also sitting was a panel of four judges, namely the Chief Justice of Sabah and Sarawak, Tan Sri Datuk Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim and three Federal Court Judges, Datuk Nallini Pathmanathan, Datuk Mary Lim Thiam Suan and Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah. Apparently, the intention of Datuk Mohd Zaid Ibrahim’s lawyer who previously stated that he would not leave Najib, was not fulfilled because it was stopped before the proceedings ended.
