KOTA BHARU, August 22 – Negotiations on the distribution of seats in the Parliament and State Legislative Assembly (DUN) for the 15th General Election (GE15) involving component parties in the National Alliance (PN) are expected to be finalized in the near future. The matter was confirmed by the Deputy President of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu when met by reporters at the Kelantan State Level National Alliance Gathering in conjunction with the PN’s Second Anniversary Celebration at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium grounds on Sunday night.
“However, there is still overlap involving several parliamentary and state assembly seats between the coalition parties in the PN,” he explained. Also present at the event was Deputy Mursyidul General, Datuk Ahmad Yakob, PAS Vice President, Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah, Bersatu Vice President, Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin and key PN leaders.According to him, the discussion on the distribution of the seats went smoothly and if there is still an overlap after this, the matter will be referred to the consultation committee.
Ahmad Faizal said, when the decision is made, all parties will comply and obey all instructions from the highest leadership of both parties. In another development, the Minister of Youth and Sports said that the entire PN machinery is ready in the event of the dissolution of Parliament in the near future. “I am confident that with all the efforts that have been made, PN is ready to face GE15,” he said.
