PUTRAJAYA, August 23 – At 3.52pm A five-judge panel today unanimously rejected Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s request that the Chief Justice, Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat recuse himself from the former Prime Minister’s final appeal hearing. When delivering the panel’s decision, Tengku Maimun said there was no connection between her husband Zamani Ibrahim’s Facebook post in 2018 and Najib’s final appeal.
Outside the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya, the situation turned tense at about 3.10pm this afternoon when former Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was seen coming out to meet his supporters. Dozens of supporters who had been outside the court since morning immediately surrounded the Town MP who then spoke briefly to everyone present.
