BALING, September 7 – A total of 130 flood victims from 37 families are still in two temporary evacuation centers (PPS) until 8 am, Wednesday. Two PPSs were opened, namely Dewan Kampung Padang Empang and Dewan Masjid Al-Huda, Kampung Hangus, Kupang to house the victims. A total of 96 victims from 31 families are at PPS Dewan Kampung Padang Empang while 34 victims from six families are at PPS Dewan Masjid Al-Huda.
Victims were ordered to evacuate because the water entered their houses at a level of one meter and they were worried that they would be trapped in the dark weather conditions,” he said. The victims started to move at around 9pm, Tuesday after the water started to rise and it was feared that it would be unsafe if the rain continued.
