KUALA LUMPUR, October 10 – Malaysian Election Commission (SPR) is aware of the declaration of the dissolution of the 14th Term Parliament which was made by YAB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Bin Yaakob, the Prime Minister of Malaysia after being approved by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on October 10, 2022 (Monday).
In connection with that, the EC would like to inform that applications for domestic and foreign postal votes for the 15th General Election (15th GE) are now open immediately. Meanwhile, the application closing date will be announced later after the EC meets to determine the election dates. Next, for postal ballot applications for Category 1A (Election Officers, EC Members/Officers, Police Members, Military Members, and Media Officers),
Must apply manually using Form 1A downloaded from the EC’s official portal at https://www. spr.gov.my, and sent to the Office of the Managing Officer of the Electoral Division concerned. The address and information of the Managing Officer’s Office can be consulted on the SPR official portal as well. Meanwhile, for Category 1B (Malaysian citizens who are abroad) & 1C (agencies/organizations), applications must be submitted online through the following portal: https://myspr.spr.gov.my/login.
The EC would also like to inform that a special meeting to discuss and determine the important dates of the 15th GE by also taking into account the implementation of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) N.66 Bugaya, Sabah by-election will be held on a date to be announced later.
