GEORGE TOWN, October 11 — Pakatan Harapan Penang will submit to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council to make a decision on the dissolution of its Penang State Legislative Assembly (DUN), said Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today. Its chairman, Chon Kon Yeow, said the matter was reached in a meeting with PH Penang’s component partners held here, on Tuesday.
According to him, the decision is in line with the state DAP decision which will be referred to the DAP Supreme Party Committee (CEC) which will meet tonight. The Penang PH leadership council has met and reached a decision to refer to the issue of whether Penang will dissolve the state assembly to allow elections to be held simultaneously or not. The decision reached today refers to yesterday’s decision and as stated yesterday with today’s decision each party will refer to their respective party first,” he said when met at Wisma DAP, here on Tuesday.
Commenting on DAP Secretary General Anthony Loke’s statement that the three states have not dissolved the State Assembly, Kon Yeow said, so far the position remains the same but the state PH will still refer to the central leadership. We will refer to the central leadership for further instructions, everything will be discussed in a meeting at the central level later, he said.
